Hi!!

I’m so excited to be writing my first blog, and to be announcing that I will be going on a 9 month missions trip in September of 2021. I will be going to 3 different countries spending 3 months in each. The countries we are planning on going to are Costa Rica, Eswatini (South Africa), and Thailand!

Going through this application process took a lot of prayer from me and from some amazing people that support me. I’m so beyond excited to start this journey!

I figured I would get started by talking about myself. My name is Adalie Duncan and I live in Brunswick Ohio. I live in a family of 7 which consists of my mom and dad, my 2 brothers, two sisters, and our dog, Bentley. I love sushi, sunsets, and chai tea lattes. I absolutely love watching Netflix (especially the office), so if you have any show suggestions, let me know. I sing and play guitar, and I’m on my youth group’s worship band. I’m a senior at Buckeye High School, which I still can’t wrap my mind around.

Why did I decide that I wanted to go on the race?

Once I started thinking about life after High School, I immediately decided that college was the best option for me. I decided that college was what I was supposed to do and there was no doubt about it. About a month before I told anyone that I wanted to apply for the race, I had a feeling that college just wasn’t for me. I didn’t necessarily know what to do because this had messed up my plan. Every time that I would look at colleges, something in the back of my head was telling me to push it off and not go. I knew ever since I was a little girl that I wanted to travel the world and be a missionary. I feel like God has been calling me to leave and spread his word in crazy places. Once I fully realized that I wanted to do this, I told my parents and now this crazy journey has started. Literally 3 days after I told them, I applied. I know that this is what God is calling me to do and I’m so beyond excited. It was a long application process, but I have officially made it and I couldn’t be more happy.

I’m extremely exciting for this amazing opportunity ahead of me. I feel like God was calling me to missions work, and this is definitely a good start for me. If you want to help me on my journey and come along with me, there are two main things you can do. I need prayer and donations. The cost is $15,800 which I’m hoping I’ll be able to raise with your help. If God is calling you to help me, don’t ever be afraid to reach out. Thank you for all of your support!
